World Cup: The Stamp Block

The Brazilian Post has issued a stamp block with 3 pieces on the World Cup which starts in Brazil on June 12. Each stamp features an icon of the event: the mascot, the cup and logo.
Unfortunately it was not made special cover for this issue, neither maximum card ... But even so it is still a very interesting block.

Cover from France + Postcard from Poland

I received this cover sent from France by Pierre.
Inside was a great postcard from Poland about 62 years of the Warsaw Uprising.
Researching the topic, which is relevant to the theme World War II, I found a site about the museum dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising -written in Polish, but translatable.
Thank you Pierre.

Cover from France

The nice cover received from Fabienne (France) this month brings stamps related to religious themes: two of them over two Routes the famous Camino de Santiago de Compostela, traveled by pilgrims since the ninth century to venerate the relics of the Apostle James the Greater, whose supposed tomb Cathedral is in the Spanish town called Santiago de Compostela.  The Routes are Via Tolosana is the Latin name of one of the four routes in France the Camino de Santiago, the southernmost and Via Podiensis is one of the Routes of Santiago that part of Puy-en-Velay in Auvergne (in French, Auvergne) in France and extends to Step Adour and from there to Santiago de Compostela.
The third stamp from left to right is about St. Bernard of Clairvaux, an abbot of Clairvaux, saint and Doctor of the Church. Born in 1090 in Fontaine-lès-Dijon, died on August 20, 1153 at Abbey Claraval. It was a Cistercian monk and great propagator of the Order and defender of the Church. It was he who wrote the rule of the Templars.
Fabienne, thanks for the great stamps inside the letter and this cover!!!

Nice covers from Russia

A few days ago I received this nice cover from Nastasya, Russia.
As usual the current Russian stamps have offered to collectors around the world a few chapters of the millennial history of the Russian people, which is not limited to just the nineteenth or twentieth centuries. Within this large envelope were two FDC.
The first commemorate 1025 years The Baptism of Russia on 28th July 2013 (the joint issue of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine). The stamp is illustrated with beautiful artwork The Baptism of Rus' by Viktor Vasnetsov (1885-1896).
The second Patriarch Alexy II on or Alexius II (1929-2008), the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church which was awarded The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle was the first and the highest order of chivalry of the Russian Empire. Abolished under the USSR and re established the Russian Order in the top 1998.
All great examples of beautiful Russian stamps today. Thanks Nastasya.

Happy New Year

2014 has begun and I'm a little late with my posts.

First, I would like to wish a happy New Year to all friends of the blog and thank you for your cooperation during 2013.

New Year promises philatelic news and I hope I can keep the blog updated. I take the first post in 2014 to show a letter I received from Sarah Germany with large and nice surprises for Christmas.

Sarah, thanks again!
